Rosita M. Goodridge âfaithful servantâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Rosita M. Goodridge, 93, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, June 16, 2014 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born on December 6, 1920 in Wellsville, NY, she was a daughter of Harold and Ozema Oliver Conklin. On May 26, 1942 in Wellsville, she married Harold C. Goodridge, who passed away on May 30, 1979.
She was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School.
Mrs. Goodridge was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Shinglehouse and had attended the Hebron Union Church in Hebron and the Obi Community Church in Obi, NY. She was a loving and kind woman and in her younger years volunteered at area hospitals assisting in the nursery. She loved to sing. Her faith was strong and her devotion to the Lord was unwavering. She was a faithful prayer warrior, always remembering her family and friends in prayer.
Surviving are seven children, Harold C. (Shirley) Goodridge of Belmont, NY, Jerry R. (Elaine) Goodridge of Belmont, NY, David L. (Nancy) Goodridge of Shinglehouse, Conell B. Goodridge of Bradford, Steve C. Goodridge of Wellsville, Linda D. (Gary) Stone of Galeton, and Rosita J. (Mike) Simons of Shinglehouse; twelve grandchildren, Tonya, Jeff, Carl, Dan, Karen, Lori, Tricia, Shane, Stephanie, Nicole, Shannon, and Justin; eighteen great-grandchildren, Heidi, Hayden, Mason, Elizabeth, Katelyn, Shelby, Josh, Jerry, Megan, Jennifer, Brittany, Caydon, Kylee, Mikayla, Makenna, Gavin, Abby, and Jacob; a great-great-granddaughter, Evalynn; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Goodridge was predeceased by a son, Terry D. Goodridge; and one brother, James Conklin.
Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at which time funeral services will follow with the Rev. Darell Harris of Oswayo, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
