Santa J. Knecht “beloved mother and grandmother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Santa J. “Sadie” Knecht, 95, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born on Friday, December 18, 1925, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of Anthony and Rose Todaro.
Sadie was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church in Phillipsburg. She was employed as a seamstress at Betty Lee Dress Factory in Easton, Pa. for many years.
Sadie enjoyed playing Bingo, sewing, and being with her family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Charles J. “Charlie” (Debbie) Knecht of Shinglehouse; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sadie was predeceased by six brothers and a sister.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside funeral services at 1pm on Friday, May 28, 2021, in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Cemetery in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials in Sadie’s name may be made to the Sweden Valley Manor Patient Activity Fund, 1028 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Sadie’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
