Sarah L. âSallyâ Easton âbeloved wife, mother, and grandmotherâ
COUDERSPORT, PA---Sarah L. âSallyâ Easton, 68, a longtime resident of Coudersport, formerly of Shinglehouse, passed away with her loving family by her side on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a short illness.
Born on March 20, 1947 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Harry and Mildred Dexter Moshier. On February 14, 1972 in Coudersport, she married Kenneth E. âKennyâ Easton, who survives.
Sally was a graduate of Port Allegany High School and was a graduate of the former Olean Business Institute in Olean, NY, where she received a degree in business.
Sally was a secretary for the late Attorney D. Bruce Cahilly in Coudersport and was also a cook at Daveâs Diner in Ceres, NY for 10 years. She was then employed by Adelphia Communications in Coudersport as a sales representative, later was a cook at Fezzâs Diner in Coudersport, and lastly before retiring, was employed as a cook at the Costello Inn in Costello.
Sally was an honorary member of the Roulette Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and was a longtime member of the Coudersport American Legion Potter Post #192 Auxiliary. She loved to travel, having been to every state except Hawaii and Alaska. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Stanley R. (Stephanie) Easton of Austin, Steven R. (Maria) Easton of Brattleboro, Vermont, and Scott R. (Jennifer) Easton of Coudersport; an âadoptedâ son, John W. Kranitz of Buffalo, NY; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam (Sharon) Moshier of Roulette; a sister, Linda Moore of Rochester, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Coudersport American Legion Post 192. A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven D. Small, pastor of the Southern United Methodist Charge, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Coudersport American Legion Potter Post #192 Auxiliary, 2 Buffalo Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Sallyâs family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
