FRIENDSHIP, NY---Simon A. Antonioli, Jr., 73, formerly of Friendship and Shinglehouse, PA, passed away on July 3, 2013 at the Highlands Care Center, Laporte, PA, after a short illness.
Born on December 27, 1939 in Kersey, PA, he was a son of Simon A. and Cynthia M. (Wheeler) Antonioli, Sr. In May of 1966, he married Judith Layton, who survives.
He was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School. Mr. Antonioli honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army.
He was employed by DeWitt Concrete in Olean, NY for many years.
Mr. Antonioli was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper in his younger years.
Surviving are two sisters, Helen M. Caya of Olean, NY and his twin sister, Dolores June (Lee) West of Cuba, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Antonioli was preceded in death by a brother, Louie Antonioli; and a sister, Catherine Antonioli.
In honoring Simonâs wishes, private funeral services were held at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA. The Rev. Thomas E. Brown, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Shinglehouse, officiated.
Burial was in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY, with the Military Forces Honor Guard-Burial Detail from Horseheads, NY, proudly according full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donorâs choice.
