Stephen W. Fiske, Jr.
Stephen W. Fiske, Jr. “beloved husband, son, and brother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Stephen W. “Steve” Fiske, Jr., 35, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y., from complications of COVID-19.
Born on Wednesday, January 8, 1986 in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of Stephen W. “Steve” Sr. and Sarah L. Skinner Fiske. On December 27, 2006 in Little Genesee, N.Y., he married Amy M. Lydic Fiske, who survives.
Steve was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 2004, in Shinglehouse. While in high school, he attended Vo-Tech and co-op at Wayne Paving in Shinglehouse which led to him being certified as a diesel mechanic, of which he was extremely proud. Stephen moved on to owning and operating his own business, F&S Cores, never leaving scrap behind just like his dad. He ultimately got his dream job as a diesel mechanic at Portville Truck and Auto in Portville, N.Y., where he was loved by many.
Stephen’s favorite pastime was working on vehicles and spending time with his family. We think the only thing he loved more was buying tools. He was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle that anyone could ask for.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; his parents of Little Genesee, N.Y.; two brothers, Gerald I. (Tiffany) Fiske II of Shinglehouse and Robert L. (Amber) Fiske of Bradford; six nephews, Gerald I. Fiske III, Brandon L. Fiske, Sheldon A. Fiske, Vincent G. Moore, Zavier A. Fiske, and Martin L. Austin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be no public visitation. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on a date and place to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amy Fiske, 988 Horse Run Road, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
Steve’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
