Thomas R. “Pap” Glover       “beloved husband, father, and grandfather”

COSTELLO, PA---Thomas R. “Pap” Glover, 87, a lifelong resident of Costello, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 28, 2014, after a long illness.
     Born February 5, 1927 in Costello on the family homestead, he was a son of Charles T. and Elizabeth E. Hagland Glover.  In 1948, he married Lula Belle Eck who passed away on February 21, 2001.  On September 9, 2004, he married Kathy L. Kunz, who survives.
     Pap attended the Costello Country School which later became his family home.  Pap honorably served his country in World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
     He was employed in pipeline construction for many years working under Local 66 as an operator.  He owned and operated the Old Tannery Inn in Costello from 1969 to 1991.
     Pap was a life member of the Austin-Costello Sportsman’s Club where he served as president for 34 years out of 35.  He was also a life member of Austin Vets Club #7810.
     He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved running heavy equipment, especially the grader.  His greatest love was his family.
     Surviving besides his wife, Kathy, are seven children, Richard (Nancy) Glover of Austin, Tom (Penny) Glover of Costello, Alb (Anna) Glover of Costello, Joanie (Larry) Tilburg of Costello, Bruce Glover of Emporium, Joe (Vida) Glover of Austin, and Rick (Sherri) Glover of Costello; two stepsons, James Salley of Quantico, VA and Cris Salley of Virginia Beach, VA; eighteen grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Emelda Glover of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents and previous wife, Pap was predeceased by a son, Chuck E. Glover; three grandsons, Jason R. Glover, Larry Leightley, and Josh Erich; and two brothers, Earl “Babe” Glover and Bill Glover.
     Friends and family may call at the Austin Vets Club #7810, Austin on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time a memorial service will follow with Donald Caskey officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin.
     Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord military honors on Wednesday.
