Thomas R. Ireland, Sr. âbeloved father, grandfather, and brotherâ
CERES, PA---Thomas R. Ireland, Sr., 60, of Ceres, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 24, 2016 after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home.
Born on October 25, 1955 in Olean, NY, he was a son of Clarence T. and Olabel C. Tarr Ireland.
Tom was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse.
He was employed for many years as an independent contractor working for UPS in Allegany, NY as a hazardous material correspondent. This was a position he worked hard to attain, completing further education in this quest. He also performed machine and facility maintenance for UPS in Allegany, NY, Jamestown, NY and Dunkirk, NY. In his younger years, Tom worked as an independent contract carrier for the Olean Times Herald. He was a hard worker often working 7 days a week and was proud of his success and good job that he had contracting with UPS. Tomâs great love of music lead him to become the owner and DJ of âNightrocker Entertainmentâ.
He loved to ride his Thoroughbred Stallion trike motorcycle. He loved to work and tinker in his garage, welding and fabricating projects, many times for his friends and neighbors.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas R. Ireland, Jr. of Ceres and Jesse M. Ireland of Fountain Inn, SC; two granddaughters, Alexis Marie Ireland and Jordan Williams; a brother, Terry (Sue) Ireland of Shinglehouse; a sister, Linda (Steve Hathaway) Clayton of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Corris; and a nephew, Tom Ireland.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Isaacson, pastor of the Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
