Thomas O. Smith âbeloved father and grandfatherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA----Thomas O. Smith, 65, of Shinglehouse, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, after a long illness.
Born July 28, 1947 in Auburn, NY, he was a son of Olin A. and Marjorie G. Norris Smith. On July 10, 1971 in Shinglehouse, he married Gloria J. Olmstead, who survives.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. He had been employed as a service rig operator at Gas Field Specialists in Millport for 30 years until becoming disabled.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Shinglehouse Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his granddog, Cabella.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Christopher Thomas (Kristina) Smith, serving with the U.S. Army stationed at Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Michelle S. (Cody Saxton) Smith of Shinglehouse; a granddaughter, Aleah J. Saxton; a grandson, Connor J. Smith, to be born on Christmas day; a brother, Dennis (Janna) Smith of Wolcott, NY; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was predeceased by an infant brother.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Shinglehouse Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. James E. Haddon, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davita Dialysis Center, Bradford, PA.
