Wayne E. Blauvelt âlongtime Bolivar residentâ
BOLIVAR, NY---Wayne E. Blauvelt, 95, a longtime resident of Bolivar, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in the Wellsville Manor, Wellsville, after a long illness.
Born November 21, 1919 in Shinglehouse, PA, he was a son of Harry and Susan A. Wheeler Blauvelt.
Wayne attended Shinglehouse schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as a medic during World War II, having seen the Battle of the Bulge and the battle at Normandy.
He was a logger, oil field worker and lastly a salvage yard manager.
Wayne was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Surviving are eight children, Beulah (Frank) Klimek of Milton, PA, William W. (Millie) Blauvelt of Shinglehouse, Tina (Tommy) Payne of West Clarksville, Sue E. Stives of Bolivar, Marion (Richard) Ferrari of Rochester, Robert N. (Michelle) Blauvelt of Little Genesee, Clifton (Judy) Blauvelt of Henderson, Nevada, and Robert W. (Margery) Blauvelt of Salamanca; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by two sons, Wayne Blauvelt and Leslie Blauvelt; two brothers, Francis Blauvelt and Joseph Blauvelt; and three sisters, Grace Bellamy, Clara Byam, and Ruth Byam.
In keeping with Wayneâs wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wayneâs name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Blauveltâs family has entrusted his arrangements to the care of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
