William B. Powers
COUDERSPORT, PA----William B. âBillâ Powers, 68, of Coudersport, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born September 29, 1944 in Braddock, he was a son of John and Ethel Buell Powers. On January 30, 1965 in Coudersport, he married Janice M. Fundis, who survives.
Mr. Powers was a graduate of Coudersport High School, class of 1963. He was employed by PennDot for many years, retiring in 1991. He was then an owner/operator truck driver and later was employed at Adelphia. Until the time of his illness, Bill was employed by the Potter County Sheriffâs Department as a Courthouse security officer and corrections officer.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Coudersport. He enjoyed watching the races, camping and fishing. He loved being with his family, especially the time spent with his grandsons.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, William J. (Caroline) Powers and James J. (Tami Sevinsky) Powers, both of Coudersport; a daughter, Carrie L. (Tim) Pesock of Westfield; two grandsons, Carson James Powers and Reed William Powers.
Mr. Powers was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Coudersport American Legion Post 192.
